Zakopower is a Polish Górale folk music group. It is named after Zakopane, the hometown of its lead singer. In 2008, they won the Fryderyk Award for Folk Album of the Year and National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, Grand Prix.

She writes all the lyrics on her albums by herself, reflecting a lot from her own experiences. She is considered as one of Poland’s best performing singers. The next album is scheduled to be released in the late 2008. Kasia Kowalska is also expecting her second child late Spring of 2008.
